OKLAHOMA — Country music star Zach Bryan and Bud Light both donated $1 million to military and first responder foundation Folds of Honor.

Bryan and Bud Light presented checks at Bryan’s The Quittin’ Time Tour in Tulsa on Friday.

Located in Owasso, Folds of Honor is a nonprofit that provides scholarships to the spouses and children of military service members and first responders who have fallen or been disabled while serving.

Folds of Honor said the scholarships support tuition for college, technical or trade school and post-graduate work, including a master’s degree, doctorate or professional program.

Folds of Honor has awarded almost 62,000 scholarships totaling about $290 million in all 50 states since 2007. A total of 91 percent of every dollar goes to the scholarship program.

Bryan was raised in Oologah and served seven years in the Navy before being honorably discharged.

During his tour, Bryan met with Folds of Honor recipients and their families at numerous stops across the country.

“I served alongside a lot of beautiful people. The devil dogs, the Chiefs, the men and women we lost, the grunts, these kids shipped out from Iowa, California, Maine. I loved every second of serving the country. If I could give back a million times over I would,” said Bryan. “This donation goes out to a lot of people but most importantly the people I personally loved and lost. Thank you, Folds of Honor, for letting me be a part of something bigger than myself.”

Folds of Honor said the $1 million donation from Bud Light is part of the $3 million provided to the organization in 2024 from Anheuser-Busch.

“Bud Light is incredibly proud to build upon Anheuser-Busch’s 14-year partnership with Folds of Honor. We believe this partnership creates a powerful impact on the lives of the families of military veterans and first responders. We are excited to close out 2024 and look forward to 2025 with this donation, re-establishing our commitment to supporting our local communities and serving those who serve,” said Todd Allen, SVP of Marketing for Bud Light.

Over the past 14 years, Anheuser-Bush, along with its brands and wholesaler partners, have donated $28 million to Folds of Honor.

“We are so grateful to Zach, Bud Light and Anheuser-Busch for their generous and meaningful donations,” said Lt. Col. Dan Rooney, founder and CEO of Folds of Honor. “Zach was raised in Oklahoma, served in the military and is a true patriot. He cares about our families and understands the importance of service and an education. Bud Light and Anheuser-Busch are always there for our recipients and have helped provide an education for the families of American heroes. We are truly blessed to have both Zach and Anheuser-Busch in our corner.”
