Jennifer Nettles joins the cast of ‘The Exorcist’

Fans will be able to catch a familiar face in the new Exorcist movie coming out October 13, 2023. Frontrunner of Sugarland, Jennifer Nettles took to Instagram recently to let fans know that she is tapping back into her acting skills as she’s set to play a key role in this first film of the new horror trilogy.

Nettles is joined by an all star cast that includes Leslie Odom Jr., Ann Dowd, Lidya Jewett and Ellen Burstyn, who is reprising her role as Chris MacNeil from the 1973 original.

Aside from being a Grammy winner as part of Sugarland, Nettles is also known for her acting both on and off screen. Most recently she portrayed the role of Jenna Hunterson in the Broadway musical “Waitress.” On screen, Nettles appears on HBO’s “The Righteous Gemstones” and had a supporting role in the Oscar-nominated Harriet Tubman biopic, “Harriet.” She is now the host of Fox’s new reality dating show, “The Farmer Wants a Wife,” which airs Wednesday nights at 9/8c.
